Green Growth Technology Roadmap to Be Developed ANKARA (AA) - SEVGİ CEREN GÖKKOYUN - A "Green Growth Technology Roadmap" will be prepared to focus on the intersection of priority sectors and critical technologies in research and development and innovation support. As part of increasing research and development capacity, the research and development and innovation support system will be transformed into a structure that is focused, covers the entire process from research to commercialization, is differentiated for medium-high and high-technology sectors, and takes into account the needs and development potential of sectors. Research and development and innovation support will concentrate on the intersection of priority sectors and critical technology areas. The "Green Growth Technology Roadmap" will be prepared in cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK. In this way, the technological needs of sectors regarding green growth will be identified, and research and development and innovation support areas for meeting these needs will be created. Qualified human resources with doctoral degrees needed in industry will be trained through university-industry cooperation, and the employment of doctoral researchers in industry will be encouraged. A call will be issued under the Industrial Doctorate Programme to provide support to doctoral students. Research infrastructure, high-technology platforms created in cooperation with private sector research and development centers and public research and development units, and research projects with high commercialization potential will be supported under the Centers of Excellence Programme.

Public Co-financing

The amount and variety of support for accelerating the commercialization of new technological products will be increased, and complementarity of support with public procurement mechanisms will be ensured. Within this framework, projects for the development of critical components, equipment and materials needed in public institutions, with co-financing by the public institutions concerned, will be supported. Calls will be issued in the SME support programme for "Order-Based Research and Development Projects" where SMEs in the position of suppliers to large companies guide research and development projects and provide co-financing. To obtain a higher value-added share in the global value chain, companies will be introduced to the Pioneer Research Laboratories Support Programme and applications received will be evaluated. With the policies to be implemented for the research and development and innovation ecosystem, it is expected that in the coming year the share of the private sector in research and development expenditures will be increased to 66.3 percent, and the share of those employed in the private sector in research and development personnel to 65.7 percent.
