Valmet Offers Precise Measurement Solutions in Industrial Wastewater Treatment with HS

Valmet introduced its new high solids content measurement device, Valmet HS. Providing stable and accurate measurement across various industrial processes, including wastewater treatment, pulp and paper production, Valmet HS is capable of measuring moisture content in solids exceeding 30% at a 1-70% moisture range. Originally designed for municipal wastewater treatment facilities, Valmet HS is based on microwave technology. Distinguished by its patented sensor structure, Valmet HS regularly collects samples from the settling or downpipe section of the process and returns them to treatment after solids content measurement is complete. Cost and Fuel Savings Increase Sustainability

The new measurement system Valmet HS provides users with numerous advantages. By minimizing sludge transportation costs in wastewater applications, the system also increases sustainability of industrial processes by reducing additional fuel consumption in boilers fed by sludge. Additionally, Valmet HS enables optimization of total solids levels and real-time monitoring of dewatering or drying process performance. Currently used after a high consistency press roll, Valmet HS provides error-free pulp consistency control to the paper machine, making pulp entering the paper machine more stable. Other process benefits include lower press energy consumption, reduction in fiber breakage and prevention of excessively high consistency that causes equipment damage. Other proven applications of Valmet HS include measurement of sludge solids after pulp and paper dewatering processes, measurement of wood chip moisture before pelletizing in the wood processing industry and monitoring of sludge moisture before incineration. Havana adds: "The solution has been so successful that new applications continually emerge. Ongoing development work across various industries includes, for example, thermal drying process control and starch, sugar and gypsum moisture measurement."
