Silverline Factory Aims for Zero Waste

Silverline Ankastre, ranked among Europe's top 5 and the world's top 10 range hood manufacturers, considers environmental impacts at every stage from initial production through consumer delivery and carries out work to use raw materials, natural resources and energy efficiently. At its 103,000 m² facility in Merzifon, Silverline produces energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies. Through the "Zero Waste System" established at its production facility, it performs source separation and places particular emphasis on recyclable raw material selection to achieve 100 percent recycling. At its production facilities in Amasya Merzifon, Silverline achieved 4,500 kg of paper/cardboard recovery, 55 tonnes of glass recovery, 350 tonnes of metal waste recovery, and 2,300 kg of plastic/nylon recovery in 2018, qualifying it to receive a plaque under the "Zero Waste Project" launched by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Through the recovery achieved over the past year, Silverline provided significant energy savings and thereby prevented environmental pollution. As a result of recoveries achieved through the source waste separation system in the factory, 5,500 m³ of greenhouse gas emissions and the felling of 76 trees were prevented in 2018, and 10 m³ of waste storage space was saved. 5,500 litres of petroleum were saved and 460 tonnes of raw materials were saved. Additionally, Silverline achieved 32,000 kWh in energy savings.
