Zero Carbon Footprint Forests Project Zorlu Enerji's "Zero Carbon Footprint Forests Project," launched to raise awareness about the climate crisis and targeting the planting of 1.2 million saplings by 2030, received the second award of 2022. Zorlu Enerji's "Zero Carbon Footprint Forests" Project, which was launched in 2010 to mitigate the effects of the climate crisis and has planted approximately 420,000 saplings, received the "Our Energy Our Future" award presented at the Turkey Energy and Natural Resources Summit. Sinan Ak, Chief Executive Officer of Zorlu Enerji, who received the award from Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez, expressed satisfaction at seeing their efforts in reducing carbon emissions recognized.

Ak stated that as a company conducting its operations with the aim of contributing to Turkey's growth in sustainability, they are working towards their goal of zeroing emissions from their operations by 2030, and expressed their satisfaction at having their efforts recognized, saying: "It is an honor to receive the second award for our project this year from Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez. We have targets to increase the share of renewable energy in our total production to 100 percent by 2030, to become an institution with net zero emissions in operations and energy production, and to invest TRY 10 million for the protection and improvement of biodiversity. In addition, we are pursuing our work towards the goal of achieving net zero emissions across our entire value chain by 2040. At the beginning of this year, with this project we also received the silver award in the Climate Action category at the Sustainable Development Goals Awards. At a time when the global climate crisis is one of the most important agenda items for the entire world, working for a sustainable planet and society will continue to be our most important priority," he said.
