TEMA Vakfı's 'Zero Waste Education Project', implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ministry of National Education and Tetra Pak, has been awarded in the 'Environmental and Social Responsibility' category at the Green Dot Industry Awards organized by ÇEVKO for the fifth time this year.
The Zero Waste Education Project aims to introduce the concept of 'zero waste' to children through a 5D model, and to raise awareness among children about how to reduce waste in their daily lives, how to consume less, and how to value waste in different ways. The 5D model, which also covers the proper use of natural resources and the prevention of waste, consists of five principles: "Think and Don't Consume If Not Necessary", "Consume Less", "Value and Reuse", "Repurpose and Use Differently", "Transform So Nature Gains".
"We expanded the training to 81 provinces through the 'Zero Waste Education Portal'"
Tetra Pak Turkey General Manager Konstantin Kolesnik made a statement on the matter: "At Tetra Pak, sustainability is at the core of our work and we are working to leave a livable world for future generations. With this perspective, through the 'Zero Waste Education Project' that we implemented in cooperation with TEMA Vakfı, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and the Ministry of National Education, we aim to provide our children, who will be the adults of the future, with sustainable living habits. Last year, the Zero Waste Education Portal was launched to expand the training to 81 provinces and we enabled our teachers, students and parents to benefit from all educational materials. We are very pleased that the 'Zero Waste Education Project', which has achieved successful results, has been awarded in the 'Environmental and Social Responsibility' category at the Green Dot Industry Awards organized by ÇEVKO. We will continue our nature and human-focused work in the coming period," he said.Advertisement
