Schneider Electric Continues Sustainability Program
Schneider Electric announced third quarter 2023 results under its Schneider Sustainability Impact program. The company is making steady progress toward achieving its annual targets through sustainability initiatives spanning a broad range of areas, from combating climate change to supporting education and entrepreneurship.
Global awards received during this period in areas such as energy innovation, decarbonising production, and employee development initiatives demonstrate the company's achievements in sustainability.
Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, published its third quarter sustainability performance results.
The Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) 2021-2025 program drives and measures progress across the company within the scope of 11 global sustainability targets, serving as a guide for initiatives conducted with local leadership. This work supports Schneider Electric's 6 long-term Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments. In the third quarter of 2023, the company's SSI score reached 5.76, marking significant progress toward the year-end 2023 target of reaching a score of 6 out of 10.
Under local initiatives carried out in line with the company's sustainability vision, notable work during this quarter was included in the report. According to this; Schneider Electric provided access to clean electricity for 20,000 people through solar energy solutions installed at a children's clinic in Kenya, improving the quality of life for the local community. In Mexico, in collaboration with Enactus, 60,000 students from over 400 universities and higher education institutions participated in educational initiatives to create social impact in local communities.
As a result, Schneider Electric has surpassed half of its target to provide education to 1 million people by 2025. Schneider Electric and Gaia Energy Impact Fund II raised EUR 40 million to support renewable energy projects in Africa. This impact investment partnership finances initiatives and entrepreneurial ventures with strong environmental and social focus. Schneider Electric's significant contribution to Barcelona's regional cooling project was recognised with the Best Energy Innovation Award by El Periódico de la Energía.

In addition, during this quarter Schneider Electric received three global awards from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) for sustainable procurement, decarbonising production, and employee development practices, alongside numerous other prestigious global awards for diversity and inclusion policies. Through its local and global initiatives regularly reported under the Schneider Sustainability Impact program, Schneider Electric continues to work on energy security and reducing carbon emissions while also supporting communities to meet future energy needs and close the energy access gap.Advertisement
