Puratos Transitions to More Sustainable Packaging
Puratos, one of the world's leading suppliers of bakery, pastry and chocolate materials, has announced its commitment to transitioning to more sustainable packaging solutions. The company emphasized its goal of advancing the planet by producing innovative solutions for human health and wellbeing.
With the changes to be implemented, all of Puratos' packaging will become 100% recyclable-ready. The selected packaging types will benefit from a more sustainable production process using less chemicals and energy, alongside additional improvements such as Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper and ink reduction of up to 70%.
In addition to comprehensive sustainability improvements, Puratos will enhance the functionality of various packaging types for customer convenience, including easier recycling, simpler opening and closing, and better pallet stacking features.
Sophie Blum, Chief Marketing Officer at Puratos, stated: "We are committed to building a more sustainable future and creating solutions that support human health and wellbeing. For this reason, we continuously invest in innovation with the aim of developing solutions and content that will help further reduce the environmental footprint of ourselves and our customers.
We are proud to be part of a global movement towards creating a more sustainable world and will continue to develop innovative solutions to make a difference."
With these developments, Puratos is moving closer to its goal of becoming carbon neutral in its operations by 2025 and achieving zero waste to landfill by 2030, while also helping to reduce the environmental footprint of its customers worldwide.
