Pirelli Named to CDP's 2023 Climate A List

For the sixth consecutive year, Pirelli & C. SpA, a global leader in combating climate change, was included on the CDP's 2023 Climate A List. The CDP, a non-profit organization, gathers, shares and discloses information on environmental issues. Among more than 21,000 organizations that responded to the program, only 346 companies were deemed worthy of an "A" grade, the highest score attainable in the Climate category. Organizations are evaluated on criteria including the effectiveness of their decarbonization strategies and actions taken to reduce emissions and climate risks, their efforts to transition to a low-carbon economy, the completeness and transparency of disclosed information, and adoption of best practices regarding environmental impacts. The CDP's assessment underscores Pirelli's commitment to environmental sustainability. The results, which exceed expectations when compared to the decarbonization targets set at the industrial level, confirm this commitment. Pirelli continues to establish new "Science-Based Targets" for the short and medium term in line with its Net Zero commitment.

Pirelli Vice Chairman Marco Tronchetti Provera commented on the matter as follows:

"Our receipt of the highest scores from the CDP in combating climate change confirms the sustainable transformation achieved by Pirelli and its entire value chain, and validates the concrete results obtained through new technologies and sustained commitment." Aiming to guide organizations and governments in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, ensuring water security and protecting forests, the CDP implements a special scoring methodology to gather comprehensive data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities for independent assessment. In 2023, these data were submitted via the CDP platform by companies responding to the program on behalf of more than 740 investors with assets exceeding 136 trillion dollars.
