REN Clean Skincare, together with partners SABIC and Aptar, wins Beauty Short List Award

SABIC proudly announced that a successful collaboration between REN Clean Skincare and Aptar in the development of an innovative new EVERCALM™ Global Protection Day Cream airless packaging made from certified circular polypropylene (PP) has resulted in REN Clean Skincare being recognized as the "Best Beauty Brand in Recycling (Innovation)" at the 2021 Beauty Short List (BSL) Awards. REN Clean Skincare is particularly recognized for pioneering the Infinity Recycling technology by using SABIC's ISSC Plus certified circular polymers. The material is produced from feedstock derived from advanced recycling of mixed used plastics that would otherwise go to landfill or incineration. Third-party mass balance verification confirms the recycled content used in the production of the plastic material and its conversion to the final application. ISSC Plus accreditation provides supply chain partners with traceability across the entire value chain from raw material to finished product. Implementing the technology, REN Clean Skincare relaunched the EVERCALM™ Global Protection Day Cream in what is the world's first commercial beauty packaging made from SABIC certified circular polymer by Aptar Beauty + Home, the global leader in packaging experiences for the cosmetic, personal care and home industries. The packaging material provides the same level of protection and high-quality consumer appeal as the best-selling moisturizer in similar unrecycled plastic. Committed to making all its packaging recyclable, containing recycled materials or reusable, REN Clean Skincare wanted to implement a circular solution that provides a transparent appearance and feel while also supporting the complex assembly of components requiring tight tolerances such as airless packaging systems. SABIC's certified circular PP polymers are used for the EVERCALM™ day cream airless packaging container, cap and other components, enabling these requirements to be met without compromising on aesthetics.
