PAGEV Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu Receives Full Backing from Plastics Industry

PAGEV, which has signed numerous projects to sustain the dynamism and growth of the plastics sector and has successfully represented the sector on international platforms, held its general assembly meeting. At the general assembly where PAGEV president Yavuz Eroğlu received full support from the sector and renewed confidence, the candidates on Eroğlu's list were elected to the PAGEV board of directors. The PAGEV general assembly was significant in revealing trends within the plastics sector ahead of the İKMİB elections. The general assembly meeting of the Turkish Plastics Manufacturers Research, Development and Training Foundation (PAGEV), was held at the Küçükçekmece PAGEV Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School with broad participation from members. At the meeting, elections were held for three board members and one audit committee member whose terms had ended, and the list supported by PAGEV board chairman Yavuz Eroğlu received full support from sector representatives. President Yavuz Eroğlu had entered last year's general assembly unopposed and was re-elected PAGEV president by unanimous vote. Renewing confidence at the General Assembly and backed by support from the plastics sector, President Eroğlu thus ensured that candidates he supported won in each of the three interim elections held. Following the elections held at the general assembly, the PAGEV board of directors was formed as follows: PAGEV president Yavuz Eroğlu, first vice president Ahmet Meriç, second vice president Ali Zeki Karadeniz. Treasurer member Abdullah Karatepe, secretary member Aziz Özay, Burak Önder, Eren Ünlü, Orhan Göçer, Oğuzcan Çetinalp, Cevat Taşkan and Alper Varınca as board members. The PAGEV General Assembly was an important indicator of the pulse of the plastics sector ahead of the exporter unions and chamber elections. PAGEV president Yavuz Eroğlu, in his remarks at the meeting, noted that all groups currently in the union management have come together to conduct smear campaigns before the elections in an attempt to weaken PAGEV's influence in the exporter unions and chamber elections, but the general assembly responded to these hollow smears with a vote margin nearly three times greater. Eroğlu stated, "PAGEV has always been actively engaged in the exporter unions and chambers, which are the supreme bodies of the sector. It will take this activity one step further. With the full support we received from our General Assembly, we will accelerate our pace and continue on our path."
