L'Oréal Türkiye Invests in the Future

L'Oréal Türkiye continues to implement its 2030 targets, which it keeps developing under the "L'Oréal for the Future" sustainability program, through applications focused on science, technology and people.

L'Oréal Turkey continues to implement its 2030 targets under the 'L'Oréal for the Future' sustainability program through science-based, technology-driven and human-centered initiatives.

L'Oréal Turkey shared the latest developments in its sustainability efforts on the occasion of World Environment Day 2025. Having announced IMPACT+ partnership with 2 brands last year to reduce carbon emissions in its digital campaigns, L'Oréal Turkey has expanded this collaboration this year to cover all its brands. As part of the Ad Net Zero Turkey initiative, which aims for net-zero carbon emissions in the marketing and communications sector, L'Oréal Turkey shares the steps it is taking for a sustainable future by monitoring developments in light of science, technology and new regulations. The company continues its efforts to contribute to nature by conducting a seeding project covering approximately 6,000 m² of forest areas damaged by fires in Muğla, with the planting of 50,000 seed balls, while expanding its refillable product portfolio to reduce packaging consumption.

With a science-centered approach aiming to reduce environmental negative impacts, L'Oréal Turkey is steering the sector with products developed through sustainable content and green science principles; while continuing to develop innovative solutions in the digital world that will create impact with a lower carbon footprint. L'Oréal Turkey announced the steps it is taking in line with its targets developed for a sustainable world on World Environment Day. Announcing its progress under three main headings—Sustainability Powered by Technology, Sustainability Powered by Science, and Sustainability for People—L'Oréal Turkey continues to advance its transformation journey for a more livable world and sustainable beauty.

'Building a more livable future together'
Sinem Sandıkçı Gökçen, Country General Manager of L'Oréal Turkey, highlighting the importance of a sustainable future and discussing L'Oréal Turkey's sustainability developments, stated: "As L'Oréal Turkey, we view sustainability not merely as an environmental goal but as an integral part of how we conduct business. We continue our work in line with the 'L'Oréal for the Future' targets announced in 2020. In our IMPACT+ partnership launched last year, we continued to optimize our digital campaigns to reduce our carbon footprint. This year, we expanded our scope and implemented IMPACT+ initiatives across all our brands under the L'Oréal Turkey umbrella.

We develop environmental and social projects to protect our planet with science-based targets and add value to society. We are expanding our sustainability focus in every area, from digital media transformation to our product portfolio that reduces waste through refillable products; from seed projects that restore nature to collective initiatives aimed at transforming our sector. We also supported the Ad Net Zero Turkey initiative, which aims for net-zero carbon emissions in the marketing and communications sector, becoming part of sectoral transformation. We believe in the power of transforming together by reaching out to all the ecosystems we are part of. We are building a more livable future together by bringing science, technology and people together," she said.

Sustainability Powered by Technology
Reducing carbon footprint in the digital world is now a goal for all brands under the L'Oréal Turkey umbrella
Taking action to reduce carbon footprint in the digital world and making a difference with a sustainable digital media approach, L'Oréal Turkey, as part of a partnership with the French start-up IMPACT+, which operates in 47 countries, has optimized digital content with the goal of reducing carbon emissions in programmatic video advertising across all L'Oréal brands investing in digital media in Turkey. As of 2024, L'Oréal Turkey has launched a sustainability-focused transformation in its digital media communications.

With the integration of IMPACT+ solutions into all digital media plans, carbon emissions from digital campaigns under the Environmental Sustainability Program (ESP) have achieved savings equivalent to a plane circling the earth approximately 12 times. Within the scope of the partnership, strategies such as reducing creative file sizes, lower data transfer, connection and device targeting are being implemented to reduce the carbon footprint from digital campaigns by the end of 2025. Through the partnership conducted, environmentally friendly strategies such as reducing creative file sizes, lower data transfer and connection with device targeting have been implemented. L'Oréal Turkey will continue its commitment to reducing the carbon footprint from digital media and its sustainability journey with full passion.

L'Oréal Turkey contributed to Ad Net Zero Turkey carbon targets
L'Oréal Turkey is among the supporters of the Ad Net Zero Turkey initiative, launched under the umbrella of REPID (Association of Advertising and Marketing Communications) and implemented to promote sustainable communication practices. As a global member, L'Oréal aims to create sector-wide transformation by setting five key action areas in line with its net-zero carbon emissions target in the marketing and communications sector. L'Oréal Turkey is pioneering sectoral change by creating transformation both in its own operations and in media strategies in these areas.

Sustainability for People
'L'Oréal for the Future' Sustainability Program continues to implement its targets in light of science for our future

Taking the latest data from continuously evolving environmental science into account and taking necessary actions to adapt to new opportunities offered by technology, the 'L'Oréal for the Future' sustainability program encompasses the most comprehensive sustainability targets through 2030. Supporting these targets with science-based and measurable strategies, L'Oréal provides transparency through the targets it continues to develop in the name of sustainability.

L'Oréal pursues a roadmap that combines innovation and responsibility in environmental, social and climate areas. In the 'L'Oréal for the Future' Sustainability Program, sustainability targets are being developed based on 'leading in climate action', 'bringing nature to the future', 'enabling circularity' and 'supporting communities'.

This holistic perspective demonstrates that L'Oréal views sustainability not only as an environmental responsibility but also as an inclusive transformation tool focused on people and communities.

Transformation through refillable products: Less waste, more sustainability
To reduce waste, L'Oréal Turkey is expanding its refillable product portfolio to change consumer habits. Many products covering perfume, skincare and haircare are offered as refillable products at home or at points of sale. With the aim of making all products refillable, recyclable or compostable, L'Oréal targets reducing pure plastic quantity by 50%, sourcing 50% of packaging materials from recycled or bio-based sources, and reducing packaging intensity by 20% by 2030.

Additionally, it is planned that more than 75% of product components will be sourced from nature or recycled sources, and at least 90% of bio-based content used will be sourced sustainably.

Target to increase social impact through 2030
L'Oréal, as part of the 'L'Oréal for the Future' Sustainability Program launched in 2020, prioritizes not only environmental but also social development and equality targets. By 2030, it aims to increase its social impact with commitments to provide employment access for 100,000 disadvantaged individuals, contribute to the empowerment of 5 million women and reach 10 million people through our brands' environmental and social benefit programs.
This science-based, measurable and human-centered approach reflects L'Oréal Turkey's vision of placing sustainability at the center of how it conducts business and making society part of this transformation.

Contributing to nature with 50,000 seeds
L'Oréal Turkey, in respect for the boundaries of our planet, implements its targets not only in production processes but at every level of the environment and society. As part of the 2025 Citizenship Day Activities, through a project to be carried out in partnership with Ecording and the Social Climate Association, the company will drop 50,000 seed balls using drone technology over a 6,000 square-meter area in regions damaged by forest fires, particularly in Muğla. In the project where seeds will be prepared with the voluntary participation of L'Oréal Turkey employees, the goal is to provide collective contribution to nature. While 76% of consumers express concern about climate change, L'Oréal Turkey is guiding environmentally friendly consumption choices with this awareness.

Sustainability Powered by Science
Scientific transformation inspired by nature
L'Oréal places the "Green Science" approach at its center to make its innovations compatible with the environment. Across the group, 65% of products consist of plant-based or natural ingredients with high mineral content. This transformation does not only change the nature of ingredients; it also redefines the relationship with nature. Redefining the boundaries of sustainability, L'Oréal continues to pioneer the sector with production models that respect the environment.

Planet-friendly beauty through green science
With L'Oréal's 1 billion euro investment in green science strategy, the aim is not only to develop alternative ingredients but also to produce beauty products in stronger harmony with nature. This strategy includes developing high-performance components from renewable plant-based sources, waste reduction and low energy consumption principles. Through these efforts, waste is reduced, energy consumption is minimized and high-performance ingredients are obtained through methods compatible with nature.
