Solutions for Carbon Fiber Thermoplastic Composite Structures
HAICoPAS project led by Hexcel and Arkema aims to optimize UD tape design and manufacturing for aerospace and automotive composites.
A joint collaboration project led by Hexcel (Stamford, Conn., USA) and Arkema (King of Prussia, Pa., USA) aims to optimize unidirectional (UD) tape design and manufacturing for use in high-speed and cost-effective composite part production. The HAICoPAS (Highly Automated Integrated Composite Advanced Structure Realization) Project is part of the partnership announced last year between Hexcel and Arkema for the development of high-performance PEKK/carbon fiber UD tapes for primary structures used in the aerospace industry. The HAICoPAS Project also aims to develop a highly efficient UD tape placement technology and a new system that enables quality control of the final parts through welded assembly.Advertisement
