Eksun Gıda Invests EUR 14.1 Million in Green Energy

The company, which signed a contract to establish two wind power plants (WPP) under unlicensed electricity generation, announced the turbine investment cost at EUR 14.1 million. Eksun Gıda General Manager Ahmet Demir stated that the 15% advance payment was made from internal company resources.
Eksun Gıda, one of the country's leading flour producers that adheres to the principle of creating sustainable value for all stakeholders, is also making investments in renewable energy. Having previously announced receipt of an invitation letter for its planned wind power plant (WPP) investment with a total capacity of 18.9 MW under the Unlicensed Electricity Generation Regulation in the Electricity Market, Eksun Gıda took an important step in this regard. The company reached an agreement with Nordex Grup, a wind turbine designer and manufacturer, for turbine supply of the 7 MW and 11.9 MW capacity wind power plants it plans to establish.
Investments creating value for people and environment to continue
Evaluating the agreement, Eksim Gıda Group Chairman and Eksun Gıda General Manager Ahmet Demir stated that they continue to bring Eksim Holding's renewable energy vision to the food sector, saying: "The contract we signed worth EUR 14.1 million became a concrete indicator of our contribution to the green transition. The 15% advance payment of the total value of this contract signed for two wind power plants (WPP) to be implemented under unlicensed generation was paid from our internal company resources. As Eksun Gıda, while delivering flour, the most basic food commodity, to more than 30 countries, we are also aware of our responsibilities towards the world we exist in. In this direction, thanks to our deep institutional culture and strong financial structure, we prioritize investments that create value for people and the environment."
Excess energy to be supplied to market
Stating that they plan to supply excess energy produced when the project is completed to the market, Demir said: "We will continue our efforts without slowing down to ensure continuity of our renewable energy plant investments and to contribute to our sustainability targets. We will continue to share developments regarding the project with our investors and the public in the coming period."
