Leading Names in the Global Plastics Industry Come Together at 13th Turkish Plastics Industry Congress Organized by PAGEV

    Turkish Plastics Manufacturers Research, Development and Training Foundation (PAGEV) held the 13th Turkish Plastics Industry Congress on 4 December 2018 at Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel with the participation of experts, industry representatives and academics from Turkey and abroad. The congress theme was "Plastics of the Future". At the congress, which has been closely followed by the industry since its inception, the future of the plastics sector was discussed by experts, ranging from high-tech production adapted to the 4th Industrial Revolution to innovative approaches in plastics, from nanotechnology to sustainable solutions. One of the most important points of the congress was that the plastics sector, which leads industries that easily adapt to innovations, will continue to provide convenience wherever life exists by transforming in line with technology. Within the scope of the 13th Turkish Plastics Industry Congress, a panel was also organized with the title "What Awaits the Plastics Sector in the Future" moderated by PAGEV Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu. The panel, with speakers including EuPC-European Plastics Manufacturers Association Board Chairman Renato Zelcher, PlasticsEurope European Raw Materials Producers Association Executive Director Karl Foerster, ACC American Chemistry Council Director General Keith A. Christman and Plastics Europe Mediterranean Region Director Giuseppe Riva, was followed with interest by industry representatives. In his opening remarks at the congress, TOBB Plastics Rubber Composites Industry Council and PAGEV Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu said: "When bringing the Turkish Plastics Industry Congress to life, our aim was to provide new perspectives to our plastic manufacturing companies. We saw that the congress, which proved extremely beneficial for our sector, celebrated its 13th edition with intense interest from participants. This shows we are on the right track. We thank all organizations that supported our congress. This year, we chose to focus on the future rather than discussing the past and present in our congress. Leading experts from around the world shared their valuable knowledge and insights on the transformation in the plastics sector. The common conclusion from all presentations was that advanced technology, innovation and sustainable solutions occupy an important place in the future of the sector."
