Clariant Opens Waste Treatment Competence Center in Brazil To support the mining industry's sustainability efforts, Clariant has launched a new technical facility dedicated exclusively to developing waste management solutions in Brazil. The Waste Treatment Competence Center (CCTT) Brazil opened in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais state. Mining provides the minerals required for future technologies in low-carbon energy and transport (such as wind turbines, electric vehicles), "green" buildings, smartphones and other electronic devices. It provides an important pathway for sustainable mega-trends that support recycling. Mining operations are working on some of the most important challenges while strengthening such significant developments and advancing on the path to sustainability. As part of this, the importance given to waste management is increasing as the industry searches for alternatives to industrial tailings dams and seeks to discover untapped valuable mineral resources.
