Baumit Turkey Awarded Zero Waste Certificate

Baumit has been awarded the 'Zero Waste Certificate' by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization for the practices it has implemented at its production facility regarding efficient use of resources and waste management.

Baumit, which contributes to energy-efficient, environmentally friendly and healthy building projects in the building materials sector, places people at the center of all its designs, products and solutions with the mission of enabling people to live in healthy, energy-efficient and beautiful buildings. In line with this understanding, Baumit's production facility in Dilovası, which develops innovative thermal insulation systems for sustainable quality of life and focuses on spreading insulation awareness to society, has qualified to receive the "Zero Waste Certificate" granted by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. The Zero Waste Certificate is awarded based on evaluation of criteria such as waste prevention, more efficient use of resources, and reduction of waste generated.

Stating that sustainability is at the center of all its activities, Baumit Turkey General Manager Atalay Özdayı said: "Our production facility in Kocaeli, Dilovası, is extremely modern and contains advanced technology. It is one of the most advanced facilities in the sector. Our factory has a vertical design. We house a tower 63 meters high. With the vertical production method, we save on both production space and energy. We manage all our production processes according to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

We work to ensure that products respectful to the environment and people are produced with harmless raw materials, equipment equipped with clean energy and modern technology, and under ergonomic working conditions, reaching the end user in a risk-free manner. By continuously conducting research and improvements to enable reuse of all products that can be recycled, we continuously advance our targets for using natural resources in the most efficient way. The fundamental criterion in our production is for people to live in healthy, energy-efficient and beautiful buildings.
