Sustainable Business Award for ASAŞ's Bicycle-Friendly Employer Project

ASAŞ received first prize in the Social Impact and Resilience – Environment category at the Sustainable Business Awards with its Bicycle-Friendly Employer Project, which was launched to support employees' access to environmentally friendly transportation alternatives and to promote a sustainable transportation culture.

ASAŞ's project, which continues the company's sustainability efforts, aims to promote bicycle use and support healthy lifestyle habits by offering environmentally friendly alternatives for employees' daily transportation needs.

320 Bicycles and 8 Kilometers of Bicycle Path

ASAŞ provided 320 bicycles for employee use at its production campus located in the Akyazı district of Sakarya in order to encourage bicycle use. A total of 8 kilometers of bicycle path was created within the campus.

The project aimed to create a safe and alternative transportation option for employees to travel between production facilities by bicycle. In order to expand bicycle use not only for transportation within the campus but also for employees' commutes to and from work, collaborations are being developed with relevant institutions, and efforts are being carried out to strengthen the connection with Akyazı.

ASAŞ plans to establish a repair workshop so that regular maintenance and repairs of the bicycles can be carried out. In addition, bicycle training sessions are being held through ASAŞ Akademi to develop employees' knowledge and skills regarding bicycle use.

Contribution to Sustainable Transportation Culture

In addition to environmental gains, the Bicycle-Friendly Employer Project aims to support employees' healthy lifestyle habits and raise awareness about sustainable transportation.

While contributing to the spread of an environmentally friendly transportation culture within the company, the project also aims to raise awareness of the environmental and socio-economic benefits of bicycle use.

ASAŞ had previously earned the right to receive the CFE (Cycle Friendly Employer) Gold Level Bicycle-Friendly Employer Certificate, becoming the second Turkish employer to receive this certificate. The company continues to develop its efforts in the field of sustainable transportation with the Bicycle-Friendly Employer Project.
