In this century, particularly in developed countries, a new economic order has begun to take shape worldwide in which the services sector predominates. National economies have increasingly begun to integrate more closely with the outside world under the influence of globalization. When we look at the production dimension, elements that create difference and value (design, creativity, technology that increases end-user comfort and safety, brand value, image value, etc.) have begun to come to the fore in developed countries rather than production itself.
In light of these developments, the concept of engineering has also begun to change in this new century. Engineers no longer focus solely on the production department of a product in the classical sense; rather, they have begun to address other dimensions of the work in this century (R&D, technology, creativity, design, etc.).
The technological and industrial developments of this century have naturally increased dependence on basic resources such as energy and raw materials, and the efficient use of these increasingly scarce resources has become increasingly important. Consequently, given constantly evolving and changing business and working conditions, engineers and manufacturers have taken on substantial responsibilities.
Looking at successful engineers or business professionals working in production systems in recent years, we see that those who manage scarce resources, propose alternative production policies, and provide good interdisciplinary coordination in projects are coming to the fore.
In this context, companies with an engineering infrastructure based on preventing and solving problems by developing systems, models and methods for the examination, planning, organization, implementation, supervision and development of systems in the industrial and service sectors—composed of people, machinery, materials and similar elements—are institutions that have achieved or will achieve success in the near future.
Another notable aspect of this era is the competitive environment that exists, which naturally accelerates technological progress further. Manufacturing has entered a new age and global markets are beginning to form.
As a result, production organizations have been forced to make fundamental structural changes to survive and compete. Serious development in paints and coatings, chemicals (building chemicals, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, etc.) in our country and in the world brings with it the need for development in the machinery and equipment in which these products are manufactured.
As Sözer Makina, we are not just a company that manufactures machinery; with our 76 years of experience and the knowledge we have acquired through our exports to 54 countries to date, we can also produce professional solutions tailored to your needs.
Within the scope of turnkey projects, complete project work with fully automatic, semi-automatic or manual operating systems—built on advanced technology and high efficiency principles along with our experience, with engineering, design and implementation principles maintained at the highest level—can be carried out within our company.
As sector development progresses, advancing machine technologies have made the existence of effective and powerful mixing machines a necessity. To be successful in terms of quality and time in the product you will produce, you must have the right recipe and the right group of machinery and equipment.
This is directly proportional to how well you master your product and production process. In general terms, chemistry may sometimes seem very simple, but when various components come together, the resulting reaction can become very complex.
For example, you can produce Caulk Putty, a heavy putty type with 500,000 centipoise, on a "Planet Malaxer" machine, but for a product with this viscosity the more effective choice is "Zet-Mixer" machines. That is exactly the situation we are referring to—"appropriate machine selection."
Our single-shaft mixing machines and planet malaxer machines, which have been in operation for many years, have served successfully. In addition to these machines, our two or three-shaft combined mixers and combined planet malaxer machines have received serious demand in recent years.
The target customer base for machines in this scope are companies that produce products in the 5,000–3,000,000 centipoise range. If the raw materials in these products can only be mixed into the product through dispersion, they require a high-speed mixing impeller on the machine. For this mixer to perform the dispersion process, it must have dispersion impellers capable of reaching peripheral speeds of 19–25 m/s.
In cases where high or low viscosity product mixing is not sufficiently performed by high-speed dispersion alone, there may be situations. Within the process, blending with two paddle systems with a separate speed control system that operates independently of the high-speed system can be accomplished homogeneously in very short periods.
This mixing arrangement can also work integrated with scraper and vacuum systems. Both the design and characteristics of vertical mixers vary depending on viscosity. When viscosity increases significantly during product production, fixed-shaft high-speed mixers cannot adequately mix the product in the mixing vessel, and this causes the product to have poor homogeneity.
Combined planet malaxers differ from other vertical mixers due to two characteristics. The first and most important characteristic is that they have two planet-type shafts and angled blades on these shafts. The planet shafts rotate both around their own axes and in a certain path within the vessel. Due to the orbital motion of the planet shafts in the vessel, the planet blades continuously move within the production charge.
The second characteristic is that it has a high-speed shaft, and this characteristic is a mandatory feature for producing certain formulations. A high-speed shaft with a dispersion blade is very effective in the processes of wetting and dispersing powders. In addition to these shafts, the combined planet malaxer machine also has another shaft called a scraper arm that helps the mixing process by transporting the product from the vessel wall toward the center.
With Sözer Makina Combined Malaxer and Mixer Machines, you can easily and in very short times produce products such as pigment paste, petrochemical products, insulation and filler materials, putty, paste, sealing products, silicone, mastic, sealing components.
Dispersion impellers can generate a certain amount of heat on the material due to their blade profile and peripheral speed. To prevent the product produced from reacting with heat and deforming, or to track this temperature curve, our machines have a PT100 temperature measurement system as a standard feature.
Also standard with the machine are cooling motors that are coupled to the motors and allow long-term operation at low speeds. In multi-shaft combined mixers, in addition to features such as scraper, vacuum, pressure, and PT 100, timed mixing feature is also included as standard.
Since these types of machines require very powerful motors and equipment, machine bodies are manufactured as complete castings. In terms of capacity, they can be produced as standard starting from laboratory types—3-litre capacities—in 500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 3,500, 5,000 and 10,000-litre capacities. The casting of the machine body ensures lifetime durability and rigid operation.
On the machine control screen, in addition to machine functions, there are separate speed, amperage, and timer digital displays for the mixing motors and digital temperature display screens where you can see the temperature of the product being produced. In addition to this, semi or fully automatic recipe control systems and PLS control system features are offered as optional features on operator panels.
Sözer Makina Combined Mixer Machines are manufactured in compliance with "CE", "Occupational Health and Safety, ATEX Zone 1 EEx dIIB T4" standards. In mixers, especially in these types of machines with many mixing systems, transmission elements are extremely important. Your machines must be designed with the correct type and to serve the purpose; the engineering calculations at this point are very important.
Poor designs and incorrectly selected transmission elements can result in insufficient power transfer from motors to the mixing equipment. In these types of machines, you can see that excessively powerful motors are often used. This is because some companies think they can close the gap created by poor design by choosing a powerful motor, but this is incorrect practice.
With increasing viscosity, mixer selection shifts from left to right as follows. Correct machine selection does not simply mean machine type. You must also perform your benefit/cost analysis correctly.
Particularly in recent years, in line with the importance companies place on innovation, automated systems have become more popular. Consequently, production processes are aimed to be completed as much as possible in an automation system extending from the production stage to packaging, independent of human labor.
As Sözer Makina, at this point we can provide you with solutions through fully automatic or semi-automatic systems tailored to your requirements from the very beginning to the end of the system. By adapting new-generation powder or liquid raw material feeding systems to our machines, we ensure that raw material feeding is carried out in a measurable and appropriate manner.
