Since it operates on electric energy rather than compressed air, the part that distinguishes this pump type from pneumatic diaphragm pumps is the center section of the pump. The center section of the pump is filled with pressurized air and moved back and forth with the help of an electric motor to push the diaphragm left or right. This back-and-forth motion fills the opposing fluid reservoir through the inlet manifold while pushing the fluid out of one reservoir and into the outlet manifold. After the transition, the fluid section filled during the previous transfer is emptied into the outlet manifold and fills the opposing reservoir through the inlet manifold. This smooth transition reduces vibration at the outlet.How Does an Electric Diaphragm Pump Stop Under Pressure?
It should be noted that the center section of electric diaphragm pumps has no fixed connection. If the pressure value outside the center section is higher than inside, the diaphragms will stop without moving under pressure.
