Operating Principle:

The high-speed disk beneath the basket creates suction, drawing the product to be ground from the top of the basket into the conical-mouth grinding chamber. Additional rotating disks within the grinding chamber supply the necessary energy and motion to the grinding/crushing beads inside the chamber, thereby performing the grinding/crushing operation. Beneath the basket is a broad and highly permeable screen system. This screen allows the product passing through the grinding chamber to return to the vessel while retaining the grinding/crushing beads within the chamber. The ground product that passes through the screen is thrown toward the vessel walls by the centrifugal force created by the high-speed disk beneath the basket. With the aid of the conical structure at the vessel bottom, the product re-enters the grinding chamber from above, creating circulation. Instead of a single or double pass of product at lower flow rates through a conventional Bead-Mill, the grinding process achieved through multiple passes at higher product flow rates delivers more effective results depending on the product being processed. The DBM Series Basket Mill operates on this principle, ensuring that all product within the vessel undergoes multiple passes through the grinding chamber during operation. The results achieved for the finished product are a more uniform structure, faster grinding, narrower particle distribution/fineness value, and high color strength. Advantages: • Compared to conventional Bead-Mills, Basket Mills exhibit significantly higher efficiency. Since greater circulation is provided per unit time, grinding times are reduced and energy consumption decreases. • Because the products being processed are handled within a single vessel from the beginning to the end of the process, the need for extra vessels, pumps, hoses and piping systems is eliminated. Should the product composition change during processing, necessary binders, solvents or other additives can be easily added without stopping the process. • The grinding chamber and internal components, as well as cleaning of the grinding/crushing beads, are very quick and practical.
