FANUC Offers Students Hands-On Robot Programming Training
Applied Robot Programming Training from FANUC for Students
Continuing its efforts targeting young people to build a qualified workforce in factory automation, FANUC also pursued its educational programs and projects bringing robots together with university students in 2021.
FANUC brought together nearly 1,000 engineering students studying in different regions of Turkey through online training sessions and various events, enabling them to gain significant experience in robot programming.
FANUC Training Sessions Provided Students with Robot Programming Knowledge
Teoman Alper Yiğit, General Manager of FANUC Turkey, stated that they continued with necessary events and training to best prepare students for professional life, saying: "In 2021, when we did not conduct in-person training as a precautionary measure due to the pandemic, we continued our online training sessions. In addition to our university sponsorships, our 'webinar,' 'case analysis' and 'tea talk' meetings continued. Over the course of the year, we reached nearly 1,000 engineering students. Through our training, students gained firsthand experience in robot programming, and we received very positive feedback, especially from those interested in this field. We are very pleased that we were able to introduce robots and robot software to them while they were still students," he said.Student Performance Evaluated Following Training
Yiğit noted that students were evaluated from different angles following the training, stating: "At universities where we are partners, FANUC employees themselves served as instructors, measuring student performance through midterm projects or tests. Following training in case analysis or our ROBOGUIDE software program, we provided students with free access to our software and asked them to draw a factory production simulation, in other words, to create a real project. The most successful projects submitted to us were rewarded with internship opportunities or more detailed advanced-level training. Additionally, students had plenty of opportunity to practice since they downloaded the trial version of the FANUC ROBOGUIDE software program to their computers."FANUC Will Continue Educational Activities in 2022
Yiğit stated that FANUC's training programs and other activities at universities will continue and expand in 2022, saying: "With our training sessions, we aim to reach engineering students at more universities. We will conduct training this year with METU Design Factory, which uses our CRX product in their projects. We are planning a Case Analysis meeting with ITU OTOKON this year as well. Additionally, we sponsor the ITU Robot Olympiad and are also sponsors in the drone category. We will be present as a sponsor at Yildiz Technical University RLC Days this year. We have scheduled a seminar and training with OSTİM Technopark University in Ankara. We will continue our partnership in the robot programming course taught as a CO-OP branded course at Bahçeşehir University last year, reaching more of our students."Advertisement
