FANUC Offers Solution to Hygiene Problem
FANUC's Solution to Hygiene Challenges
FANUC, a pioneer in developing CNC controllers, robots and machines for the automation industry, has added two new models to its SCARA robot portfolio. The SR-3iA/C and SR-6iA/C robots, offering high competitive advantages and favorable price-performance ratios, provide solutions to hygiene issues in the food industry.
With its developed robot models, FANUC delivers high-speed and precision solutions to production operations across numerous sectors, and is bringing a new dimension to food safety with its new SCARA models.
The newly added SR-3iA/C model, featuring a 3 kg payload capacity and 400 mm reach, and the SR-6iA/C model, with a 6 kg payload capacity and 650 mm reach, use the same mechanical design as FANUC's proven SCARA series.
The new models, equipped with white epoxy coating for extra durability in harsh environments and IP54 protection against dust and water spray contamination, perform comprehensive cleaning procedures in food facilities and clean rooms.
Brake release switch allows for easy error correction
Both FANUC SCARA robot models operate within a 360° envelope, offering an ultra-compact footprint that saves floor space compared to competitors. This enables food facilities and system integrators to prepare smaller cells while utilizing the robot's full reach. The design of the SR-3iA/C and SR-6iA/C models minimizes potential interactions with surrounding equipment through their compact footprint, facilitating easier integration. Fully integrated services such as solenoid valves and pneumatic air lines on the SCARA robot arm help further reduce interaction curves and collisions while also lowering costs. In particular, the brake release switch located on both robot arms allows for easy error correction.120 cycles per minute
The new SR-3iA/C and SR-6iA/C models complete 120 cycles per minute depending on the application, without compromising precision. The robots also deliver ±0.01 mm repeatability on linear axes and 0.004° wrist rotation repeatability. The latest models, certified to ISO Class 5 clean room standards, provide superior solutions even in applications such as syringe assembly. FANUC holds world leadership in factory automation for manufacturing machines such as CNC control systems, robots, Robodrill (machining centers), Robocut (wire EDM), and Roboshot (plastic injection molding). Since 1956, FANUC has pioneered the development of CNC controllers, robots and machines for the automation industry at its 1.7 million square meter facility at the foot of Mount Fuji near Lake Yamanaka in Japan. With 271 subsidiaries worldwide and more than 8,200 employees, FANUC provides high-quality services to its customers in sales, service, technical support, research and development, and customer service. As one of the first companies to design the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) for global industry with the goal of creating the factory of the future, FANUC is directing factory automation with its FIELD (FANUC Intelligent Edge Link and Drive) application and real-time monitoring technology for robots called 'Zero Down Time (ZDT)'.Advertisement
