Direct Process Cleanliness Control Optimized with Fluorescence Measurement Technology
Coatings, adhesives, welding and assembly operations, as well as surface coating and surface treatment processes, require ensuring adequate part cleanliness. Even simple contamination detection on parts during production is critical for economical manufacturing.With SITA CleanoSpector, developed specifically for quality assurance in industrial cleaning operations, measurements can be performed rapidly in the field and at the facility, part cleanliness can be evaluated, and parameter deviations and facility errors can be identified and addressed immediately.
Specially designed easy-to-use fluorescence measurement technology enables direct evaluation of parts in the process and can be adapted to suit each specific application.
Fluorescence measurement instruments developed by SITA are designed to detect thin contamination films that easily accumulate on metal, ceramic and glass surfaces. Non-contact measurement is based on the properties of materials used in the production process that emit fluorescence when excited by UV light, such as oils, greases, cooling oils and protective agents.
The process permits measurements regardless of surface roughness. The intensity of fluorescence varies depending on the amount of contamination on the surface, and fluorescence intensity is measured in RFU (relative fluorescence units).
In accordance with ISO 9001:2008 requirements, fluorescence measurement instruments are calibrated using specially developed standards, ensuring that measurement results from all instruments are comparable.
Through precise positioning of the measuring area with a 1 mm diameter, parts of all sizes and shapes can be monitored.
The device's cleanliness measurement mode displays part cleanliness as a percentage. It is calibrated on a completely clean part corresponding to 100% cleanliness. By comparing the cleanliness of part surfaces with this reference surface, it provides the contamination ratio. Heavily contaminated parts are evaluated with cleanliness below 10%.
SITA-ProcessLog Windows software not only enables easy PC control of all functions of SITA CleanoSpector but also provides convenient management of recorded measurement data.
