Dassault Systèmes Unveils SOLIDWORKS 2021

Dassault Systèmes launched SOLIDWORKS 2021, the latest version of its three-dimensional design and engineering applications portfolio. To enable users to complete their work faster, SOLIDWORKS 2021 features more advanced capabilities and workflows in design, documentation, data management and verification. SOLIDWORKS 2021 users can also connect to the 3DEXPERIENCE WORKS portfolio, expanding their ability to solve various challenges from design through manufacturing and accelerating cloud-based collaborative innovation. SOLIDWORKS 2021 includes a series of performance enhancements and advanced functions, such as the top 10 development requests from the SOLIDWORKS community presented at the 3DEXPERIENCE World 2020 event held in February. Performance enhancements focus on part and assembly design, product download, drawing, graphics and data management to accelerate operations and workflows. New features in SOLIDWORKS 2021 include assembly simplification, more flexible part design and more robust simulations, as well as improved user experience and assembly modeling conveniences for SOLIDWORKS users.

Meanwhile, a connected version of SOLIDWORKS designed for the 3DEXPERIENCE platform was also launched in three packages: 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Standard, Professional and Premium editions, which mirror the desktop versions. In addition to the familiar SOLIDWORKS desktop applications that SOLIDWORKS customers have used for years, they can now benefit from cloud services on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which will enable them to be more collaborative and mobile.

Since the connected version of SOLIDWORKS has embedded data management, it cleans up obsolete or lost files and automatically updates all software and data.
