High-Performance Polyurethane Filter Systems

Ravago Petrokimya Üretim A.Ş. operates thermoplastic elastomers, engineering plastics, silicone elastomers, EPS, thermoplastic polyurethane and polyurethane systems within its portfolio. Tekpol polyurethane systems house, operating under Ravago Petrokimya Üretim A.Ş., primarily comprises: rigid polyurethane systems, discontinuous panel (DCP) polyurethane systems, continuous panel (CP) polyurethane systems, spray polyurethane systems, flexible polyurethane systems, molded flexible polyurethane systems, molded foam systems, integral skin systems, viscoelastics, semi-rigid products, RIM, filter systems, shoe and sole systems, C.A.S.E (coatings – additives – sealants – elastomers) polyurethane systems and polyurea systems. As a new development under Ravago Petrokimya Üretim A.Ş. Tekpol, work on a high-mechanical-properties filter system has been completed and the system has been introduced to market. This system we developed is two-component and product codes are as follows: • 4312-820 (High density) • 4312-430 (Radial filter) • 4312-340 (Panel filter) • Isocyanate S221

The high-mechanical-properties filters developed at Ravago R&D Center have been designed for casting on low-pressure polyurethane machines. Technical specifications of the developed radial and panel filter systems are compiled in the table below.

Data shown in Table-1 were recorded at 24°C in a 2000 rpm mixer under laboratory conditions. In addition to these values, the mechanical properties of the system are shown in Table-2. These tests were recorded at a 100:32 ratio in a conditioned laboratory with a Zwick Roell device at Ravago R&D Center.

The developed polyurethane radial filter system has been designed to meet customer requirements in the range of 28 to 35 ratio. As seen in Tables 1 and 2, the high-mechanical-properties radial polyurethane filter system demonstrates high performance when evaluated in terms of both technical and mechanical properties.

These tests were recorded at a 100:37 ratio in a conditioned laboratory with a Zwick Roell device at Ravago R&D Center.

The developed polyurethane panel filter system has been designed to meet customer requirements in the range of 33 to 41 ratio. As seen in Tables 3 and 4, the high-mechanical-properties panel polyurethane filter system demonstrates high performance when evaluated in terms of both technical and mechanical properties. In addition to these features, the common isocyanate of these three high-mechanical-properties polyurethane filter systems is S221.
