Carbon fiber recycling specialist Vartega held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new facility at Pecos Logistics Park in Denver on 23 May. The state-of-the-art facility, spanning 82,000 square meters, will enable Vartega to significantly increase production and meet growing demand for recycled carbon fiber. CEO and founder Andrew Maxey reiterated the company's commitment to a sustainable future and a circular economy through carbon fiber recycling during remarks he delivered before more than 100 guests at the ceremony. Describing the journey that brought Vartega to this point, Maxey noted that the company has exceeded expectations from a decade ago: "I never imagined having so many wonderful people and perspectives to help bring all of this together. The evolving technology in this field also forced us to understand what the market needs, and this enabled us to create a material that solves a very deliberate and urgent need in the industry."

Brosius from IACMI also delivered remarks at the event, highlighting the important role Vartega plays in advanced manufacturing for combating climate change. He noted that recycling is the solution to reducing the carbon footprint of virgin carbon fiber production.
