Solvay Opens Thermoplastic Composite Centers
Solvay (Alpharetta, Ga., USA) has opened two innovation centers in the thermoplastic composites field in the USA and Europe, and signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin to expand aerospace composite materials activities through its new center in Belgium.
The company stated that the Product Development Center in Alpharetta, Georgia and the Customer Engagement Center in Brussels, Belgium will strengthen Solvay's research and innovation (R&I) work with high-performance materials for the aerospace, automotive and oil industries, as well as its interactions with customers.
The centers will be built upon Solvay's vertically integrated specialty polymers and carbon fiber composites hub. In this way, they will be complementary to all other R&D centers.
