Kordsa Opens First Technical Center in Asia Pacific
Kordsa, a global player in tire reinforcement, construction strengthening and composite technologies markets, has inaugurated its first technical center in the Asia Pacific region.
According to the company statement, Kordsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, has launched its technical center in Indonesia.
With two production facilities in the country, Kordsa provides value-added tire reinforcement solutions to its customers in the Asia Pacific region. Through its Asia Pacific Technical Center, the company will continue to lead in new technologies in the industrial yarn and tire cord fabric fields. The center will adopt a data-driven approach to develop products and prototypes that meet customer needs as quickly as possible, while focusing on enhancing the capabilities of existing product lines. Through new technologies to be developed at this center, Kordsa will also lead the tire reinforcement sector in its green transformation. Technological capabilities gained at the Asia Pacific Technical Center will be transferred to the composite and construction reinforcement fields, providing Kordsa with new business and growth platforms. Kordsa Chief Executive Officer İbrahim Özgür Yıldırım, whose remarks were included in the statement, noted that Kordsa is a world leader in the fields where it operates, stating: 'With our tire reinforcement technologies worldwide, we reinforce 1 out of every 3 automobile tires and 2 out of every 3 aircraft tires. This center that we have put at the service of all our customers in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in Indonesia and Thailand, is indeed an indicator of this approach. With the new technologies we will develop in the tire field here, we will not only lead the sector, but will also transfer our achievements in the composite and construction reinforcement fields to provide Kordsa with new business and growth platforms.' he said. Yıldırım, noting that being close to the customer is at the heart of Kordsa's global growth strategy, stated: 'Today, our 13 production facilities in 7 countries—Turkey, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, the United States, Germany and Italy—are among the clearest indicators of our commitment to being where the customer is. Today we are expanding our existing innovation capacity and opening a new chapter in getting closer to our customers and serving them better. Our Global Technology Center and Composite Technologies Center of Excellence located in Turkey are important parts of Kordsa's innovation culture. The R&D work we have conducted to date at these centers and the more than 500 registered patents we have developed have been key factors reinforcing Kordsa's leadership in the world.
