Kimpur Takes Clean Energy Step Kimteks Poliüretan Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş (Kimpur) is taking an important step toward the industrial transformation required by the EU Green Deal by installing a solar power plant on the roof of its facility in Gebze. Kimpur will install a solar power plant on the roof of its Gebze factory, allowing the company to source approximately 20 percent of the energy required for production from clean energy. With this move, Kimpur has taken significant action to align with the EU Green Deal.

Kimpur to Source 20 Percent of Its Energy Consumption from Clean Energy

In line with the transformations envisaged to align with the EU Green Deal, announced on 11 December 2019, and to maintain competitiveness in exports, reducing carbon footprint and clean energy generation hold major importance. Within this scope, Kimpur will reduce carbon emissions and build a solar power plant on the roof of its Gebze factory for sustainable production. Kimpur has reached an agreement with Schmid Pekintaş Güneş Enerji Sistemleri San. Ve Tic. A.Ş for the solar power plant investment. Through this energy plant, the company will obtain 20 percent of the energy required for production from clean energy sources. The company will also achieve savings through this investment. In his statement, Cavidan Karaca said: "As the largest exporting company in the polyurethane sector, we are pleased to take a pioneering step with our solar power plant investment in line with the EU Green Deal and the action plans prepared by our Ministry of Trade. Within the scope of corporate social responsibility, which is one of our company's core values, utilizing solar energy, a renewable and clean energy source, in production, thus producing environmentally friendly solutions in industry, contributing to our country's economy's policies on reducing energy dependence abroad, and reducing energy costs in production to strengthen our competitive position in export and domestic markets are our objectives. Within this framework, we will strengthen our investments and continue to contribute to the sustainability-related transformation of industry and the economy. We hope this investment will serve as an example to our industry and sector." he said.
