Kimpur Adds Bio-Based Polyols to Its Portfolio Kimpur, which aims to contribute to both nature and the circular economy by using sustainable sources in production, continues to increase the diversity of its sustainable product portfolio by investing in research and development. Kimpur produces polyurethane systems used in the footwear, automotive, furniture, insulation-construction, heating-cooling and defence industry sectors. With its newly developed bio-based polyols, the company strengthens its sustainable product range and increases its competitive advantage in global markets. Companies' sustainable product development targets are growing every day. In the polyurethane sector, demand for materials derived from renewable sources is gaining significant momentum. Bio-based polyols, an important component in increasing the renewable content of these materials, are synthesized from natural oil polyols (NOP) or biopolymers derived from vegetable oils through different methods. Kimpur, which synthesizes high-functionality bio-based polyols, continues to contribute to nature by using the raw material it obtains in sandwich panel, refrigerator and cold room panel formulations, while producing sustainable solutions for its customers' product lifecycle. Kimpur has added three new products to its environmentally friendly product range with distinct advantages by using bio-based raw materials at 20% in sandwich panel system polyol, 30% in refrigerator system polyol, and 30% in cold room system polyol.
Reducing carbon footprint with new environmentally friendly product
Kimpur R&D Director Dr. Yener Rakıcıoğlu, who states that the company focuses on products that will benefit nature with a 27-member expert research and development team, made the following remarks about the environmentally friendly polyols newly added to Kimpur's product range: "With the awareness that resources in nature are finite, we continue our research and work without slowing down to implement sustainable solutions in our product lifecycle. We have completed TRY 27 million in sales agreements for our 2023 activities with our new products using bio-based polyols. With our vision to develop new products that will benefit nature, the bio-based polyols we have added to our product range will not only reduce our carbon footprint but also increase our competitive advantage in global markets and contribute to our high performance." Kimpur will continue its work with the aim of benefiting the environment and society in all areas where it operates and manufactures, and creating a sustainable future.
