Kimpur Begins Production Operations in Düzce Kimpur completed its first production run at its new manufacturing facility in Düzce today. Kimpur, established in partnership with PEKİNTAŞ A.Ş., aims to operate at an annual capacity of 65,000 tonnes at this modern facility. Kimpur, one of Turkey's leading chemical industry companies, continues its sustainable growth trajectory. With the investment carried out in the Gümüşova Organized Industrial Zone (OSB), Kimpur is making a modern start at its new production facility, aiming to strengthen its position in the sector. The investment, with a total cost of approximately TRY 400 million, has completed infrastructure work that enables the production of approximately 30,000 tonnes of polyurethane systems as the first phase, and production has commenced from this facility. Kimpur decided to establish Turkey's second production facility in Düzce as the existing production facility in Gebze could no longer meet growth plans, and collaborated with Pekintaş AŞ on this significant project. The new investment, targeting an annual capacity of 65,000 tonnes, encompasses polyurethane systems at 50,000 tonnes as the existing product portfolio, a recycling facility for polyester polyol produced from PET waste as part of the 5,000-tonne green product range, and an additional 10,000-tonne 'EVA granule raw material' capacity. The target is to reach these capacities during the 2022-2024 period. Kimpur aims to reduce energy costs in production through solar energy system investments and create a competitive structure in export and domestic markets while focusing on sustainability targets. This new investment aims to meet approximately 55% of total electricity consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 679 tonnes annually.
"Sustainable Growth and Our Targets"
Board Chairman Leon Mizrahi highlighted the importance of sustainable growth and environmentally friendly solutions as a pioneering company in the polyurethane sector. Noting that the company ranks 314th on the ISO 500 list and is also among the top 500 on Turkey's 'First 1000 Exporters' list, Mizrahi stated that they aim to climb to the top ranks both in Turkey and globally. He stated that to reach their targets, they plan to increase their current capacities to 200,000 tonnes through overseas and Düzce investments and aim to enter the top 10 in global rankings. Mizrahi emphasized that as Kimpur, they have confidence in Turkey's future and will continue investments, and will become an important industrial establishment for Düzce, sharing their future objectives.
"Capacity Increase and Export Hub Target"
Kimpur CEO Cavidan Karaca noted that by establishing their second production facility in Turkey in Düzce, they aim to increase capacity utilization rates and expand their environmentally friendly product range. Karaca also stated that with the start of production, they will support the domestic market while becoming an important production hub for export markets. Kimpur, adding strength to Turkey's chemical sector, will continue to contribute to a greener future through its new production facility with environmentally friendly products and innovative solutions. Kimpur's new investment increases its contribution to Turkey's economy and the environment while providing employment opportunities for young people, demonstrating a sense of social responsibility.
