kimLITE, the New Member of the KİMPUR Family
Turkey is among the world's leading producers of flip-flops, after China.
In recent years, polyurethane raw material producers have made significant efforts to reduce density in flip-flop systems due to rising feedstock prices.
While achieving density values of 300 – 320 kg/m³ for summer flip-flops pressed at 320 – 360 kg/m³ in the 2010s was considered a success, the current benchmark reached over the past decade stands at 250 kg/m³ depending on the flip-flop model in question.
Current market conditions, rising costs, increased number of competing manufacturers, and economic and financial factors have driven flip-flop producers into a necessary search for solutions.
This market search and demand prompted the launch of a new project at Kimteks R&D Centre. Following more than a year of R&D project work, the intensive laboratory studies and prototype trials conducted by our team have resulted in KIMlite, the newest member of our product portfolio.
We take pride in presenting this product to our business partners – a high-quality flip-flop production system with 250 kg/m³ density, developed through careful design work down to the finest detail by our experienced team, patient machine work, formula trials, physical testing, and customer trials.
Moving away from the traditional understanding of hard, high-density flip-flop production with poor elasticity, we have developed a high-performance product with low density, elasticity, significantly improved flexural strength, rebound response, and rapid mold opening characteristics.
At Kimteks Polyurethane, when we receive a system proposal request, we think and work with a tailor's approach. Our products are our fabric. We design, process, and deliver this fabric in a manner suited to our customer's machine and process. With our technical support team of experts, we provide the most suitable system recommendations to our customers while producing KIMlite products in the hardness values our customers request. Through rapid production and flexible delivery methods, we strive to meet expectations more quickly. Our newly developed system will meet the expectations of flip-flop producers to gain advantages through low density, and consumers to use a more flexible, elastic and lightweight product. Regarding our system, the reaction profile and physical properties obtained from work conducted on a low-pressure casting machine are presented in Table 1.
