Huntsman Establishes New Polyurethane Systems House in Dubai
Huntsman Corporation announced today that it plans to establish a new polyurethane system house in Dubai in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The new facility will strengthen Huntsman's sales-oriented capabilities in the heart of the Middle East.
Huntsman's investment, scheduled for completion in the second half of 2019, will increase the company's system production capacity in the region and add a new dimension to polyester polyol capacity.
The Dubai system house will complement two existing system houses in the company's Middle East operations—Turkey (Huntsman EMA) and Saudi Arabia (HAPC, a joint venture with BCI Companies Group)—creating three key building blocks for growth.
Tony Hankins, Head of Huntsman Polyurethane Division, said: "This is a bold and timely investment that will serve as a strategic platform to expand our business in the Middle East and North Africa and strengthen our leading market position.
This investment represents the next step in our plan to strengthen our sales network. We currently operate 30 facilities worldwide that deliver innovative solutions to our customers."
