COIM Accelerates Green Transformation with High-Power Corporate Charging Infrastructure

COIM, a specialty chemicals expert and a leader in the production of polyesters, polyols, polyurethanes and specialty resins for composite materials and coatings, has installed its own electric charging infrastructure at its Offanengo and Buccinasco facilities to facilitate mobility for employees and visitors.
COIM, a specialist in fine chemicals and a leader in the production of polyesters, polyols, polyurethanes and special resins for composite materials and coatings, has installed electric charging infrastructure at its Offanengo and Buccinasco facilities to facilitate the mobility of employees and visitors.
At the Offanengo production facility, COIM chose to install 12 single-sided columns equipped with three-phase VIARIS COMBI+ charging stations, each containing two outlets with 22+22 kW capacity, connected to a system capable of managing up to 1500 A in total. At the Buccinasco facility, four stations from the same series are in operation, providing a total of 150 A. Thanks to integration with the VIARIS SPL modulation system developed by ORBIS and the CONTAX D-0643 BUS counter, this infrastructure represents one of the highest-performance systems currently installed in the company, capable of supporting very high electrical loads.
This intelligent system measures the total power consumption of the system in real time and automatically modulates the available power for charging, distributing it equally among all connected stations. In an energy-intensive corporate environment like COIM, the VIARIS SPL system optimizes contracted power and prevents overloading; thus ensuring operational continuity and system safety even during production peaks.
All VIARIS stations are equipped with dynamic load control and are networked together in a master-slave configuration. This allows each station to receive the energy it needs based on the system's current power capabilities. The result is a fully integrated infrastructure for a work environment where electrical reliability is essential.
Service management becomes more efficient thanks to the VIARIS Charger Management (VCM) software. This software allows COIM to monitor and record all charging operations on a per-user basis. Users can view data such as charging duration, energy consumption, time intervals and related costs; and export detailed reports for internal analysis or administrative use.
