Research and Technology Collaboration Solvay and Spirit AeroSystems have strengthened their research and technology collaboration on the development of composite aircraft structures. The relationship between the two companies was reinforced when Spirit welcomed Solvay as a strategic partner in its Aerospace Innovation Centre (AIC) in Prestwick, Scotland. The AIC provides research opportunities through Spirit's collaboration with industrial, academic and supply chain partners on sustainable aircraft technologies and processes. Both companies plan to pursue greater collaboration on composite development opportunities to meet the performance, cost and production speed requirements of future aircraft. The partners of this collaboration aim to develop advanced manufacturing concepts and to transform composite production, automation and assembly technologies while de-risking and shortening the development process. They will also seek greater strategic alignment on future innovation areas.
