Saudi Petrolite Chemicals Facility Opens Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, and Dussur, owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), together with officials from Saudi Aramco and SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation), inaugurated the Saudi Petrolite Chemicals facility in a ceremony attended by Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman Al Saud, Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih, and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef. The facility represents the official opening of a previously announced joint venture focused on supplying oil-field and industrial chemicals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event honored the new facility, which will advance Saudi Arabia's objectives as a supply hub for feedstock such as solvents and glycols, and accelerate the development of local workforce production skills and capabilities with localization exceeding 70%. Through faster delivery of fit-for-purpose chemical solutions, the facility will position itself closer to customers and suppliers, creating efficiency across operations. The new facility also aligns with Baker Hughes' strategy of supplying and producing chemicals near major demand centers, similar to its recent 2022 Singapore chemical production facility. The Saudi Petrolite Chemicals facility spans approximately 90,000 square meters and includes a quality control laboratory, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide pipeline feedstock, and 14 storage tanks.
