SASA Polyester Aims to Grow with Artificial Intelligence

SASA Polyester is preparing to leverage artificial intelligence applications in its production processes at its facilities in Adana, which rank among the world's largest. The SASA management, which visited ZEKI—the Centre for Experiential Artificial Intelligence and Digitalisation in Berlin, founded by Turkish scientist Prof. Dr. Şahin Albayrak and one of the world's leading centers in the field of concrete AI applications—received a briefing on the latest developments in artificial intelligence and exchanged views on potential areas of AI use in SASA's production processes. The SASA delegation, which included Erdemoğlu Holding Board Chair İbrahim Erdemoğlu and SASA General Manager Dr. Mustafa Kemal Öz, participated in a two-day workshop at ZEKI's Berlin headquarters on 15-16 January 2024. On the first day, the SASA delegation received information on the latest developments in artificial intelligence and concrete AI and digitalisation projects currently being pursued by ZEKI, and listened to detailed presentations by the center's founder Prof. Dr. Şahin Albayrak and scientist Fikret Sivrikaya from Berlin Technical University. On the second day of the workshop, SASA managers, notably General Manager Dr. Mustafa Kemal Öz, briefed the ZEKI scientific team on the company's production processes and potential areas of artificial intelligence application, and exchanged views. With artificial intelligence, SASA will be not only a producer, but also a technology leader

During the visit, General Manager Dr. Mustafa Kemal Öz, who delivered a detailed presentation on SASA's production processes, stated that they plan to prepare management, sustainability and general business processes for complete digitalisation by leveraging artificial intelligence applications alongside production processes, and continued as follows: "We will integrate advanced-level process control, the latest automation systems and information technologies into SASA's production processes with the contribution of artificial intelligence. By performing real-time data analysis at every stage of production, we will increase our production efficiency. In this way, we will effectively control our costs. In addition to our production processes, we believe that artificial intelligence applications will provide significant benefits to our company in the areas of management, sustainability, human and process safety, and environmental management. As a whole, artificial intelligence applications will play a critical role in enhancing our company's competitive strength, enabling us to make smarter and faster decisions and strengthening our leading position in the global arena.
