Maximix Delivers Fire-Resistant Paint Mixing Performance
Merris Engineering has focused on developing a paint and surface coating mixing machine that can be safely used as it is fire-resistant.
Major industries – including maritime, automotive and aerospace sectors – face the risk of destructive fire or explosion in environments where volatile solvents found in paints and other coatings create a flammable atmosphere.
The installation of electrical equipment where open sparks can ignite gases is a particular concern. For this reason, special safety measures must be implemented to prevent serious accidents that could endanger lives, property and the company's future productivity. Because of the serious fire and explosion risks arising from the use of such volatile substances in these industrial environments, Merris Engineering has focused on developing a paint and surface coating mixing machine that can be safely used with fire-resistant properties. The Fire-Resistant Maximix Mixer is designed to perform the required paint mixing functions with a capacity to mix paint tins up to 25 litres in the most demanding working environments. It is simple to operate Merris's reliable fire-resistant mixing machine, which is quiet, efficient and safe, and incorporates sophisticated safety features that prevent electrical sparks that could ignite flammable gases. At Merris, we ensure that our paint mixing machines can be used in all kinds of conditions. With a range of sophisticated internal electrical safety measures, the Fire-Resistant Maximix helps minimize risks for customers. Maximix is ATEX compliant and performs at high levels in the industry. Thanks to its robust construction and reliable performance, the Fire-Resistant Maximix complies with the rigorous ATEX dangerous and explosive atmosphere directive. All electrical functions on the Maximix, which has 220 V power input via an EX socket regulation, use EX safety switches. A three-phase EEx 11 explosion-proof motor also provides T1-T4 ignition protection. All of this means that the Fire-Resistant Maximix is suitable for use in Zone 1 areas where flammable gas, vapour or mist may potentially be present for long periods of 10 hours to 1000 hours per year under normal operating conditions. Now, thanks to Merris Engineering, industries requiring the mixing of paints and coatings without the risk of flammable gases igniting can be assured that their workplaces are safer to operate.Merris Fire-Resistant Maximix:
