Krohne Introduces OPTIBAR PM 3050

Krohne introduces the OPTIBAR PM 3050, a new compact pressure transmitter for pressure and level applications with 2-wire, 4-20 mA communication. This new transmitter is designed for general applications in food & beverage, water & wastewater, steel & iron, OEM / automation and other process industries. Typical applications include absolute and gauge pressure measurements on gas, steam and liquid lines, hydrostatic level measurements in open tanks, pressure monitoring applications in pipelines, dry-run protection for pumps or compressor monitoring applications. The OPTIBAR PM 3050 is positioned as a cost-effective device between Krohne's ultra-compact pressure transmitters and the high-quality OPTIBAR 5060 process series. The OPTIBAR PM 3050 features a fully welded stainless steel design with a metallic diaphragm and is manufactured with various process connections, starting from DN25 / 1" with either flange or threaded connections. Multiple certification options are available, including 3A, FDA, EHEDG, EG 1935/2004 and ATEX / IECEx Ex ia. The OPTIBAR PM 3050 can be used for process temperatures up to -40 ... 150°C / -40 ... 302°F without additional diaphragm seals. For aggressive fluids and / or higher temperatures, it can also be used with OPTIBAR DSP series diaphragm seal connection elements, which offer a wide range of special materials and temperature protection up to 400°C / 752°F. The measurement range starts from 100 mbar / 1.45 psi; with the smallest measurement range up to 0.1… 100 bar / 1.45… 1450 psi and measurement accuracy of ±0.1% of span set value. The fast step response time is less than 80 ms. With an internal keypad, offset corrections, zero point and measurement range adjustments can be easily performed on the device for quick start-up. Alternatively, an optional LCD display allows all configuration parameters to be set via 4 buttons. The 2-wire device also comes with 4...20 mA output and HART 7.5 communication.
