Corrosion tests are conducted in many fields, particularly in the paints and coatings industry, and are becoming increasingly common. Corrosion testing is indispensable especially for the automotive and aerospace sectors. These tests are performed in closed cabinets where test samples are placed.
The cabinets are specially designed to enable tests to be conducted rapidly and in a controlled manner in a laboratory environment.
These tests, fundamentally based on the salt spray principle, are conducted within these cabinets at specific temperatures and durations as specified by international standards. Additionally, cabinets that provide variable temperature and humidity conditions as required by test standards are also available.
As Mega Danışmanlık, we are pleased to introduce Ascott Corrosion Test Cabinets, which we have sold and serviced for many years. Ascott has been designing and manufacturing innovative and high-quality corrosion test cabinets for over 25 years.
Throughout this period, it has remained a preferred brand by many globally recognized companies. In doing so, it has acquired international reputation for brand reliability. Over one hundred Ascott Cabinets are in use in Turkey and this number is steadily increasing.
Ascott Corrosion Test cabinets are classified as follows:
1. Salt Spray and Humidity Test Cabinets
Salt spray (also known as salt fog or salt mist) is a corrosion test preferred for comparing actual product performance in accordance with international test standards. For this reason, it is the most popular test used in quality control.
The cabinets are used for basic tests requiring continuous salt spray at adjustable temperatures.
These models can also be used with neutral salt solutions (NSS) or acidified solutions (ASS) or copper-accelerated acidified salt spray (CASS).
Ascott offers two different cabinet options: Standard and Premium. Premium models have the same features as Standard models and additionally include rain and drying capabilities.
2. Cyclic Corrosion Test (CCT) Cabinets
Cyclic Corrosion Test Cabinets create an accelerated simulation of material service life by combining traditional salt spray with other controlled environmental conditions at variable temperatures and humidity levels according to user requirements.
They are particularly used for estimating material service life. Ascott CCT cabinets are flexibly designed to provide as many different cyclic corrosion tests as possible.
By standard they have the capability to provide four separate environmental conditions: Salt spray, condensed humidity (rain), air drying and controlled humidity. These climate conditions can be programmed in any sequence and automatically repeated.
Additionally, the number of climate conditions can be increased and new conditions can be created through selectable accessories offered in a wide range.
