Dürr Ecoclean's EcoCCompact: Space-Saving New System for Hydrocarbon and Modified Alcohol Cleaning and Protection

With EcoCCompact, Dürr Ecoclean has developed a versatile complete vacuum system containing halogen-free hydrocarbons and modified alcohols for component cleaning and corrosion protection. The successor to Compact 80 C/P offers a broad range of options from rapid degreasing to detailed cleaning tasks suited to sensitive cleaning requirements. The product's innovative technologies guarantee maximum cleaning efficiency and targeted cost reductions per unit. In addition to its extremely compact design and ease of use, the new EcoCCompact is both aesthetically appealing and delivers excellent results for its price. Small and medium-sized operations frequently face the challenge of meeting different cleaning requirements reliably and cost-efficiently with a single cleaning system. In addition to rapid cycle times, high machine compatibility and user-friendliness, short delivery times and environmental compatibility are also important. With these considerations in mind, Dürr Ecoclean designed the versatile EcoCCompact, which replaces the Compact 80 C/P model. The system operates with halogen-free hydrocarbons or modified alcohols (polar solvents) in full vacuum and switches easily from one solvent to another.

A New Approach to Versatile Component Cleaning

Its well-conceived concept and numerous standard options allow EcoCCompact to be easily adapted to a company's specific requirements; for example, from degreasing to pre-washing, intermediate washing to detailed cleaning. The space-saving housing, occupying only 4,000 x 1,600 x 2,700 mm (length x width x height), accommodates one, two or three liquid tanks for cleaning and rust-protection operations. The second and/or third tanks can also be retrofitted later – for example, if cleaning requirements increase or components require rust protection. In addition to an energy-efficient flood pump with its own variable-frequency drive unit for each liquid tank, there is a separate filter circuit. Designed as a combined filter system, the filter housing can accommodate either bag or cartridge filters without changing the housing. Furthermore, EcoCCompact can be adjusted for different batch sizes. The work chamber is designed to process batches up to 530 x 320 x 200 mm (length x width x height). Alternatively, a larger-volume work chamber can be installed to process component containers 250 mm high within the same base area. This not only increases throughput but also reduces component cleaning costs. Additionally, the new system is highly compatible in operation. For fast and safe operation, the modern HMI control panel with touchscreen and self-explanatory graphics allows the operating mode to be easily adjusted as needed from cleaning to rust protection or vice versa. Thanks to the integrated component display unit, process monitoring is easily understood and simplified.

Maximum Cleaning Efficiency at Lower Unit Costs

To increase the quality of cleaning and degreasing operations while simultaneously reducing costs, experience and innovative technologies from other Dürr Ecoclean systems converge in EcoCCompact. For example, rotation of the component container is controlled by a variable-frequency drive unit. This feature allows the basket to adapt to the components to be cleaned and thus optimize the process. In addition, components can be specially positioned in the work chamber for access to critical areas, or the liquid drainage can be adjusted before vacuum drying. Advanced vapor degreasing combined with the rinsing option also increases process efficiency. With this function, oil-laden solvent is transferred directly to the distillation unit. This prevents oil accumulation in the solvent or dirt buildup in the flood tank, thus improving the quality of the process fluid. To minimize non-productive downtime, EcoCCompact features efficient pumps and large-diameter piping. Operating costs are further reduced through frequency-controlled flood pumps and heat recovery in the liquid heating used for the distillation process. Another advantage of the new compact system is that it can be cooled with either water or air.
