Clariant to Acquire Specialty Chemicals Company Beraca
Specialty chemicals company Clariant Brazil has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining 70% stake in Personal Care specialist Beraca from founder family Sabará.
Clariant has held a 30% stake in the company since 2015. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Beraca is one of the leading producers of natural ingredient materials, offering oils, liquid oils and botanicals sourced and extracted through an entirely environmentally sustainable production process for the personal care sector, among others.
Located in the Amazon region, Beraca remains strongly committed to sustainability and fair trade processes while promoting community development and integrating them into the global personal care business.
For over 30 years since its founding, Beraca has received numerous awards and recognition from customers and institutions for ethical sourcing of Personal Care ingredients.
Since 2015, Beraca has invested significant resources in expanding research and innovation and steadily increased production capacity.
"Beraca, focused on sustainable products and processes, fits perfectly into Clariant's portfolio. We are providing valuable access to natural materials based on the biodiversity of Brazil's rainforests.
This presents major opportunities for high-quality growth for our Care Chemicals business," the statement read.
