MG International Fragrance Company Receives "Environmental Award" at the 31st Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Awards

International fragrance manufacturer MG International Fragrance Company won the "Environmental Award" in the large-scale enterprise category at the Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Awards, organized for the 31st time this year by Kocaeli Chamber of Industry and Turkey's first environmental awards event. The company's facility operating in Gebze Organized Industrial Zone was recognized for its pioneering practices in environmental sustainability.

Founded in 1961 and conducting operations with a human and environment-friendly approach since its establishment, the company sets an example through environment-focused infrastructure investments and technology-based sustainability projects. Investing in robotic technologies and renewable energy solutions to minimize the potential environmental impacts of chemical manufacturing, MG International won the Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Awards for the third time as a result of this vision. 

MG International Fragrance Company's environment-conscious production approach centers on the protection of natural life and efficient use of resources. The company consistently implements environment-friendly practices across many areas, from energy savings to waste management, from carbon emission reduction to social responsibility projects.

Details of Projects Earning MG International the Award
Following jury evaluation, the main practices that led to MG International Fragrance Company being recognized for the "Environmental Award" were listed as follows: Energy efficiency projects, LED lighting use and lighting automation, electrical system supported by solar panels, LEED GOLD certified production facility and all electricity consumption provided from renewable energy sources with IREC certification. Additionally, zero waste policy, rainwater harvesting system, equipment and systems to reduce water consumption, wastewater recovery through greywater system, policies aimed at reducing hazardous and scrap waste, infrastructure investments limiting emissions and carbon release, environment-themed social responsibility projects, and effective waste reduction and waste management were among the environment-friendly practices that played an important role in the recognition for the award.

The Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Awards, organized under the initiative of Kocaeli Chamber of Industry, aim at increasing environmental awareness, promoting best practices, and supporting organizations contributing to environmental protection and sustainability. MG International Fragrance Company has once again confirmed its leadership in environmental sustainability with this meaningful award.
