Turkey will drive the most growth in the European beauty market
The 2023 Turkish beauty market is estimated at TRY 85 billion. In beauty market category breakdowns, skincare accounts for 27%, haircare 27%, makeup 16%, fragrance 11%, hygiene products 12%, and hair color 6%. By channel, fast-moving consumer goods account for 60%, luxury consumption 15%, dermaceuticals 10%, and professional products 5%. The Turkish beauty market is expected to double by 2025. Turkey is estimated to contribute 16% of the largest growth to the European beauty market by 2025. Behind this are a young population, rapid digitalization, increasing interest in beauty, and a declining age of beauty product use. By 2030, 40% of the global population is projected to have curly hair, and by 2040, two-thirds of the global population is expected to have melanin-rich, darker skin tones. Kérastase, a brand under L'Oréal Türkiye, in collaboration with BlindLook, has made its products accessible to all visually impaired people. Lancôme's Shade Finder device distinguishes 22,500 skin tones, determining in seconds the exact foundation shade and skin undertone matching each person's skin tone. L'Oréal aims to empower individuals with ultra-personalized beauty understanding to freely express who they are or who they want to be. L'Oréal connects 800 digital beauty services realized through augmented reality and artificial intelligence, and dozens of smart technological devices with its customers.
