KÜAD Takes Steps Toward Strategic Cooperation with Public Authorities for the Cosmetics Sector

KÜAD reviewed current issues concerning exports, branding, e-exports and industry regulations in meetings held with public institutions and sector representatives.

KUAD assessed current topics related to exports, branding, e-commerce and sectoral regulations during meetings with public institutions and sector representatives.

The Cosmetics Manufacturers and Researchers Association (KUAD) conducted a series of visits to public institutions and sector representatives to strengthen collaborations that would contribute to the development of the cosmetics sector and to discuss the sector's priority agenda items with relevant institutions.

A delegation headed by KUAD Board Chairman Fuat Arslan met with officials from the Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB), the Ministry of Commerce and the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK).

The discussions addressed topics closely concerning the cosmetics sector, including exports, branding, e-commerce, retail trade regulations, advertising legislation and the Responsible Technical Person Regulation.

Joint projects and branding initiatives with İKMİB were evaluated
As part of the program, the KUAD delegation visited Vice-Chairman of İKMİB İbrahim Aracı.

The meeting evaluated collaboration opportunities aimed at strengthening the international competitiveness of the cosmetics sector, branding initiatives and joint project areas. Views were also exchanged on activities that would support exports and work to increase the visibility of the Turkish cosmetics sector in international markets.

Retail trade regulations were discussed
In its meeting with Ministry of Commerce Retail Trade Department Head Burak Kaplan and his team, the KUAD delegation shared the sector's assessments within the scope of the "Regulation on Amendment of the Regulation on Principles and Rules to be Applied in Retail Trade."

The meeting addressed developments in retail channels, sector expectations and views on the implementation timelines of the regulations.

Current advertising legislation changes were evaluated
The KUAD delegation also met with Ministry of Commerce Advertising Inspection Department Heads Fazıl Şal and Erhan Turhan.

The discussion covered current amendments made under the "Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices Regulation," compliance timelines for advertising practices and approaches to ensuring accurate consumer information.

E-commerce and digital marketing were on the agenda
KUAD Board Vice-Chairman Serdar Mutaf attended the pre-briefing meeting for the IGEXX event organized by the Ministry of Commerce.

In the meeting held with Ministry of Commerce E-Commerce, Digital Marketing and New Generation Technologies Department Head Hasan Önal, discussions covered the development of e-commerce, digital marketing practices and the contributions of new-generation technologies to the cosmetics sector.

Responsible Technical Person Regulation was addressed
As part of the program, the KUAD delegation also met with TİTCK Cosmetics Products Department Head Esra Gizem Türkcanoğlu and her team.

The meeting evaluated work conducted within the scope of the Responsible Technical Person Regulation, implementation timelines and sector expectations, while exchanging views on improving cooperation between the public sector and the industry.

"Public-sector cooperation will increase competitiveness"
KUAD Board Chairman Fuat Arslan stated that the meetings conducted were significant for the sector, noting that the cosmetics sector has a dynamic structure encompassing many different areas from production to exports, digital commerce to consumer communication.

Emphasizing that strong communication and cooperation with public institutions are of great importance for the sector's development, Arslan said that the visits contributed both to evaluating current regulations and to directly conveying the sector's needs and expectations to the relevant institutions.

Noting that KUAD will continue its efforts to strengthen cooperation with public institutions, sector stakeholders and members in the coming period, Arslan expressed their belief that a collaborative working culture will increase the international competitiveness of the Turkish cosmetics sector.
