A First in İzmir: Fairy Tale Festival at the Factory

A First in İzmir: Story Festival at the Factory Turkey's first and only "Story Factory" held a story festival at the Laber Kimya & İva Natura production facilities in Torbalı, İzmir. The event featured storytelling sessions for children, various workshops, handprint wall applications, kite-making and perfume workshops. Within the seminars held, discussions covered how beauty approaches stem from collaboration with nature, how all beauty concepts are inspired by nature and the mythological origins of plants. Storytellers Gökçe Ateş Kılıç, Esra Füzün, Sıla Topçam, Eda Cömertpay and Sevgi Merve Yılmaz also shared tales of goodness and beauty as part of the event.

The Convergence of Goodness and Beauty Concepts

Cosmetics General Manager Levent Kahrıman, noting that plants used in cosmetic products were also utilized by women centuries ago, stated: "Since ancient times, women have employed various methods to appear beautiful and well-groomed and to preserve their beauty. In periods before cosmetic products emerged, women relied on plants from nature itself, oils and earth for care. In this context, the concept of goodness features prominently in fairy tales as well. As a brand, we wanted to combine this concept of goodness found in tales with our beauty approach and take it to a different level. This is why we have a particular focus on stories." he said.

The Importance of Essential Oils in Cosmetics

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ünal Karık, Agricultural Engineer and Medicinal Plants Researcher, drawing attention to the significant value that essential oil content holds in quality cosmetic production, stated: "The high value of essential oils stems from their concentration in plants. Looking at it, only 1 kilogram of oil can be obtained from 3-4 tons of rose petals. Moreover, in cultivation, one must first know the plant species well. Correct cultivation of plants and their use in appropriate products will enhance product quality, while incorrect use will diminish its value. Meeting quality criteria is of great importance in this regard. In this context, as the need for products and raw materials in our country increases, cultivation of various plants is beginning to take place." he said.
