INEOS Launches New Recycl-IN Polymer for Cosmetic Packaging

INEOS has announced its new Recycl-IN rPP1025C polymer grade, developed for cosmetic packaging requiring high contact sensitivity. Containing 70% recycled content, the new product offers performance close to virgin polypropylene while reducing carbon footprint by 35%, according to the company.
INEOS announces new Recycl-IN rPP1025C polymer grade developed for cosmetic packaging with high material sensitivity. The new product, containing 70% recycled content, delivers performance close to virgin polypropylene while reducing carbon footprint by 35%, according to the company's statement.
Developed by INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe, Recycl-IN rPP1025C is positioned as a hybrid polymer solution aimed at increasing the use of recycled content in cosmetic packaging. The company emphasizes that the new product offers brands a more sustainable alternative without compromising quality and performance.
Hybrid structure delivers lower emissions
According to INEOS, the Recycl-IN approach combines high-level mechanically recycled polypropylene with "booster" polymers that support performance. This structure increases the recycled content ratio while delivering significant reductions in CO₂ emissions.
Design for thin-walled cosmetic packaging
A natural-color polypropylene homopolymer, rPP1025C was developed specifically for thin-walled injection molding and fiber extrusion applications. The product can be used in;
-Caps
-Jars
-Mascara reservoirs and caps
-Roll-on applicators
-Dispenser components
and other rigid, colored or semi-transparent cosmetic packaging components.
INEOS describes rPP1025C as a "true drop-in solution" that delivers performance close to virgin polypropylene in terms of processability, mechanical strength and optical properties.
Certification and regulatory compliance
According to information shared by the company;
-Recycled inputs fall under FDA No Objection Letter (NOL) scope
-The material has been certified by RecyClass as PCR (post-consumer recycled content) in accordance with ISO 14021 standard
Recycl-IN portfolio expanding
This launch marks the second Recycl-IN hybrid grade developed by INEOS for cosmetic packaging. The company aims to expand the Recycl-IN portfolio, which began with the previously launched rPP2030C, in the coming period.
Key features of rPP1025C
-High rigidity providing premium feel
-Heat resistance supporting product stability and shelf life
-Natural color structure reducing costs and facilitating recycling
-Scratch resistance to preserve packaging appearance
-Wide colorability range from light to dark tones
