IMCD opened its third laboratory in Istanbul for the cosmetics sector. The personal care and cosmetics laboratory will be open to all cosmetics companies in Turkey that want to enrich the content of their existing products or develop new ones. IMCD added another investment to its operations in Turkey. Taking into account the rising demand in the cosmetics field both in the domestic market and in regional countries, IMCD decided to expand its investments in Turkey. The company, which has been operating in Turkey for 18 years, opened its third laboratory in Istanbul to serve the cosmetics sector. This personal care and cosmetics laboratory will transfer the knowledge and experience IMCD has acquired in over 50 countries to the Turkish cosmetics sector.

Supporting Sector Growth with the Personal Care and Cosmetics Laboratory

IMCD, one of the leading companies in its field with an annual turnover of EUR 3.4 billion, opened a laboratory in Istanbul for the personal care and cosmetics sector, which it describes as one of Turkey's most dynamic and promising markets. IMCD's personal care and cosmetics laboratory, which is the company's third laboratory in Istanbul, will operate openly to serve the entire sector. IMCD, which has also attracted attention through company acquisitions in Turkey, will continue to create added value for both the economy and its customers through these investments, while its newly opened personal care and cosmetics laboratory will support the growth of Turkey's cosmetics sector. Aylin Zakuto, General Manager of IMCD Turkey, made statements on the matter. Noting that they serve over 2,000 companies in Turkey in their general areas of operation and work with 300 manufacturers specifically in the cosmetics sector, Zakuto said: "The personal care and cosmetics sector is one of Turkey's most dynamic and most promising markets with an annual growth rate of approximately 10 percent. Turkey's young population, developed industry and geographic advantage provide sustainable growth opportunities in both exports and meeting local demand. For this reason, in addition to strong local companies, multinational cosmetics firms also prefer Turkey for their production and sales operations, continuing their licensing agreements, contract manufacturing and joint ventures here. We trust in the growth and potential of Turkey not only in the domestic market but also because of its central location in the Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Central Asia regions, and we are continuing our investments," he said.

"We Will Now Be Able to Provide More Comprehensive Services to Both Our Customers and Our Suppliers"

Zakuto, noting that they recently strengthened their leadership by adding Ejder Kimya's personal care division to their growth investments, said: "This acquisition was a very solid step in strengthening IMCD Turkey's footprint in the personal care market. Thanks to our personal care and cosmetics laboratory opened in addition to our paints, construction chemicals and food laboratory operating in Istanbul, we will now be able to provide more comprehensive services to both our customers and our suppliers." he said. Zakuto stated that they have three main objectives in opening this center to support the Turkish cosmetics sector and explained these objectives as follows: "First, taking into account the needs and projects of our customers in this field, we can provide them with better technical support. Second, we can convey global trends and developments to the sector and offer products accordingly. Third, through application, we can better analyze our raw materials and provide technical training to our sales team," he explained.

We Can Say the Sector is an Attractive Area for Investors in Turkey

Zakuto, noting that global trends in the cosmetics sector are shifting toward natural formulations, said: "From this perspective, we can say the sector is an attractive area for investors in Turkey. Because trends and colours change every year. For example, in recent years there has been an increase in demand for vegan and gluten-free raw materials. More natural formulations, sustainable and environmentally friendly products are in the foreground," he said.

We Offer New Solutions to Industry Every Day

Zakuto noted that they work with a strong technical and commercial expert team of 3,700 people worldwide to provide their customers with the best and most reliable solutions. Zakuto said: "Conscious of our responsibility, we work with world-class institutional manufacturers without ever compromising on quality. We follow innovations, develop new formulations in our laboratories and offer new solutions to industry every day. With our cosmetics laboratory, in addition to our R&D, we open our rich product range and experience to our customers. Our expert teams, if needed, will also help our customers develop their products. In this way, we will open the knowledge and experience we have acquired from over 56,000 customers in nearly 50 countries to our customers in Turkey," he said. Zakuto also shared that in the cosmetics laboratory they will conduct joint workshops or special studies with suppliers and customers, and noted that the foundation of this approach, which makes IMCD a leading and pioneering company responding to the needs of the 21st century, lies in forward thinking and continuous improvement.
