BASF Opens First Baby Care Competence Center

BASF Launches First Baby Care Competence Center BASF Care Chemicals has inaugurated the first and only Baby Care Competence Center. The center will develop innovative formulations tailored to BASF customers' needs and conduct performance testing. Located within the BASF Turkey Innovation Center, the Baby Care Competence Center develops sustainable and effective solutions with specialized ingredients for a broad range of baby care products including shampoo, body wash, baby oil, cream, lotion, diaper rash cream and wet wipes. With the center based in Turkey, the aim is to meet the changing needs of the rapidly growing baby care market in the region and surrounding areas. The Baby Care Competence Center supports BASF's business partners not only with formulation expertise but also with advanced raw material solutions and differentiated product concepts. Formulations prepared and solutions developed here will be used by BASF customers in many parts of the world and will contribute to shaping the global baby care market.

Baby Care Competence Center introduced to customers at inauguration ceremony The inauguration ceremony held on Friday, 17 June 2022 was attended by baby care market customers and BASF distributors in Turkey and the Middle East. Remarks at the ceremony were delivered by Jason McAlpine, Vice President Business Management, BASF Europe Personal Care Solutions, Tolga Demirözü, General Manager of BASF Turkey and Head of Turkey & Azerbaijan Country Group, Mübahat Akın, Director of BASF Turkey Innovation Center and Emerging Europe Market Development, and Sema Keskin Altınoluk, Head of BASF Turkey, Azerbaijan and Middle East Regional Personal Care Division. At the ceremony where BASF met face-to-face with its customers, Jason McAlpine said, "The Baby Care Competence Center, which is part of the BASF Turkey Innovation Center, will inspire our innovative collaboration with our customers and will be highly effective in developing new market solutions worldwide." BASF Turkey Innovation Center began operations in 2020 Since its foundation, BASF Turkey has placed great emphasis on innovation and provides products and solutions to many industrial sectors in Turkey. The company launched the Turkey Innovation Center in 2020. The BASF Turkey Innovation Center develops qualified solutions in Nutrition, Home Care and Industrial Cleaning, Personal Care, Construction and Industrial Paints, Automotive Refinish Paints, Engineering Plastics and Polyurethane, and Seed Solutions. The BASF Turkey Innovation Center comprises open office spaces, application laboratories and an Innovation Room where BASF's innovative products are showcased and training and workshops are held. The 3,500 square-meter building features environmentally friendly characteristics thanks to its design and construction in accordance with green building criteria and holds LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) GOLD certification.
