BASF Develops Ingredient for Eye Area Care
BASF Develops Eye-Care Ingredient
The eye area is the first region of the body where signs of fatigue, stress, unhealthy lifestyle and ageing become visible.
As a result, many consumers are looking for safe and easy-to-use products that can protect the eye area and enhance skin radiance.
BASF Care Creations®, with Seanactiv™, has developed a new ingredient based on organically certified seaweed fucus vesiculosus that improves the appearance of the eye area in the first week of application.
Seaweed Sourcing in Accordance with Natural Life Cycles
Algae are photosynthetic organisms capable of growing under extreme conditions. Due to tides, fucus vesiculosus spends as much time on rock or sand to live underwater, which makes it particularly resistant to different conditions and temperature fluctuations. The seaweed used in Seanactiv is manually harvested under state licence in accordance with good harvesting practices that ensure biomass renewal. It is extracted through a gentle, selective procedure that concentrates the active fucoidan molecule found in algae. This sulphated polysaccharide is characterised by fucose monomers and has long been known for its beneficial properties in food, health and beauty.Advertisement
